Son of Stacy Tremayne Chism
On January 21, 1999, Phillip Chism was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, in the United States. He was raised by his parents. However, because of the tumultuous nature of his relationship with his mother, his father was missing for a while. He enrolled in a secondary school in Denver when he was fourteen.
Philip Chism brutally attacked and killed Colleen Ritzer, his secondary school maths teacher, on a tragic day in October 2013. His attempts to flee were ineffective because police officers who were trying to return him to his parents stopped him, not realising that he had just committed a serious homicide. The dead teacher’s credit card and a box shaper stained in blood were found by the police when they were requested to open the rucksack. When questioned about whose blood it was, he said, “The young lady.”
Ritzer had been sexually assaulted by Philip in the school restroom, and after failing to murder her, he hauled her corpse into the woods behind his school’s athletic field. He used the blade to rape her once again and slice her neck before covering her corpse with debris and leaves to conceal it.
At the time of the incident, Philip was fourteen years old, and he was found guilty of murder. In addition, he was charged with a second attack and an attempted murder of a female juvenile administration clinician. Chism was found guilty of first-degree murder, assault, and theft after being found in possession of Colleen Ritzer’s identification documents, credit card, and pants two years after her death.
Philip’s mother claims that there is a history of mental illness in the family, which has over the years afflicted several family members. Since his mother first relocated to Tennessee and then to her dad’s house in Florida, he also had a challenging childhood. Chism was given a life sentence for the murder of 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer and won’t be eligible for release on bail until he has completed 40 years in prison, at which point he may apply to be released. We’ll let you know when the court rules on the second attempted murder case, which is still pending.
A Conclusion
We may never know what motivated Philip to murder his maths teacher, but the brutality of his deed made many people wince. His family is rumoured to reside in the United States, although they keep this a secret.
